Mike Bowler Day 2022
The Rocky Point Lacrosse Program honored and remembered Coach Bowler with the second annual Mike Bowler Day on May 7th, 2022. Four games were played in rainy and windy conditions, or as Mrs. Helene Bowler put it, "lacrosse weather"!
The RP 3rd grade and 6th grade youth teams played against Miller Place's PAL teams. Both teams were great on the field and represented Rocky Point Lacrosse at it's finest!
The annual Blue/White Middle School game was resurrected this year and the boys did not disappoint! Blue and White teams were made up of our 7th and 8th grade players and were coached by Coach Pat Panella and Coach Ryan Stern, assisted by our HS players. White team took the victory in the first Blue vs. White game of the Mike Bowler Day era.
The Rocky Point Boys Varsity Lacrosse team took the field against the Bellport Clippers and former Assistant Coach Dave Murphy. Coach Murphy and the Bellport team were a tough opponent, but the game finished with a 16-7 victory for the Eagles!
Sophomore attackman Ryan Meyers had six goals and one assist for Rocky Point in the win win. Junior attackman Kyle Moore added four goals and two assists and senior midfielder Tyler Moeller had one goal and five assists.
DJ Xavier stopped six shots in the first three quarters and the defense played strong behind senior Christian Meyers and sophomore Jack Fredriksen.
Senior captain and midfielder Trevor Lamoureux was honored as the Mike Bowler Player of the Year, and he wore #43 to recognize Coach Bowler's 43 Varsity Lacrosse seasons at the helm of Rocky Point Lacrosse.
